Executive message from Director

From a small showroom at the Wijerama Junction, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka, Dayaratne Group started its journey more than 50 years ago.  Today it has expanded to have own warehouse, repair and maintenance center, multi-story brand new show room and three overseas offices in Bangladesh, Hong Kong and Singapore.  Small operation started in 1967 by our late father Mr. W.M. Dayaratne has grown beyond his imagination thanks to our valued customers and highly skilled employees.

As the pioneer in sewing machine rentals business in Sri Lanka, expanded to countries such as Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Egypt, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Singapore during recent years.  While the renting business remains our main service, we have diversified our offering to import and selling, refurbishment of sewing machines, repair, maintenance, spare parts, and accessories.

Our key strength lies with our employees specifically our technical team whose experience and multi skill level enables the company to identify and provide remedies to any defects taking place in a sewing machine. This team has led the company to be recognized in the industry as the first-choice apparel solutions provider for industrial sewing machine repairs and maintenance.

The apparel solutions industry is global and with this in mind we have taken our journey global as well, with a distribution network extending to Bangladesh,  India, Kenya, Egypt, Indonesia, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Singapore.

As agents for Typical and Kingtex sewing machine manufactures from China and Taiwan for Sri Lanka and Groz Beckert Needles in Bangladesh we work closely with our partners to ensure that the final customer receives the best value for money with a high-quality product and after sales service.

This successful story has been possible mainly due to two factors. Our Employees and customers, without whose cooperation and support this journey would not have been possible. We are proud to cater towards a large and diversified portfolio of customers who range from large scale apparel exporters to SMEs and to domestic customers who sew as a hobby.

The new showroom situated at the Wijerama junction, offers a total apparel solution to our valuable customers with a wide range of sewing machine options together with spare parts and accessories to support them in their day-to-day operations.

Finally, as a Director I would like to highlight and appreciate the strong business foundation set for the company by the late Mr. Dayaratne without whose effort and hard work none of this would be possible. The company from its incitation has been customer oriented and will practice the same going forward.
